Common questions

How long does a night take?

As long as fits your evening. Tap Begin and choose what you’ll do tonight: about 5, 10 or 20 minutes, or any mix of singing, reading, talking, catechism and prayer. You can stop after any step. It still counts.

Where is the Bible text?

Hearth shows the reference, like Jonah 1:1–3, and your family reads it from your own Bible. Any translation works.

We missed a few nights. Are we behind?

No. Hearth has no schedule and no streaks. It moves forward only when you finish a night, so you pick up exactly where you left off. Three nights a week is a win.

How does Hearth choose who does what?

It takes turns giving each person a job, like reading or praying, by age. Children under 2 sit in without a job. You can tap a name to swap jobs before you begin.

How do we get new studies?

They arrive on their own. When Hearth opens with an internet connection, it downloads any new or corrected studies. To choose what comes next, open Studies and tap "Start after" on the one you want.

Who writes the studies?

Every session is drafted with help and read line by line by a named reviewer before it reaches you. Scripture, catechisms and hymn texts are never rewritten.

How do I change my children or reminder time?

Tap the settings icon at the top of the home screen.

The reminder isn't showing up.

Check that notifications are on for Hearth in your iPhone's Settings, under Notifications. Hearth sends at most one reminder a day, and none on a day you've already finished a night.

Will Hearth come with me to a new iPhone?

Yes, if you set up the new phone from a backup or with Quick Start. Hearth has no account, so that's the only way your family and progress move with you.

How do I erase everything?

Delete the app. Your family's details and progress are stored only on your phone. See Privacy.
